February was a hectic month with new first-time activities. Stepping out of a comfort zone is necessary for personal development and continuous improvement. Does it feel good? Yes and no.
No relates to the actual initiation of change. A fear of failure kicks off the inner demons that rattle your nerves for no good reason other than something is different.
Yes relates to the moments where you start to see positive outcomes and upward trends. The only way to make progress is enact change. Then adjust where needed.
So what were some of these firsts?
- Setting specific business and networking goals to accomplish in 2025.
- Improving communication, including setting time aside for blogs like this.
- Slowing down my photographic process. Shooting with specific intentions.
- Shooting BTS video for my needs, plus start offering video to clients.
- Providing coverage for other local independent sports photographers who took the time and effort to ask for help. I respect and appreciate them and the reach out.
- Prioritize spending more time with loved ones. We all have a limited time on this planet. Let's use the time wisely!
Did all the first-time items work out? For the most part, yes. Some are undetermined but are sloping up.
What did we learn?
Tell the inner demons to shut it. Change is necessary for progress. Change doesn't come from sitting on the couch. It comes from a concerted effort. Let's put on the walking shoes and get a move on.
For the most part, the people I've reached out to and interacted with are genuine. They are kind, funny, direct, and look for the best in others. Those are my peeps!
